Nick is Founder and Executive Director of Jacaranda Health, and also holds an Adjunct Faculty position at Duke University’s Duke Global Health Institute. Nick has worked at the intersection of business and global health in East Africa, Vietnam, and India. Prior to founding Jacaranda, he worked in Kenya for the Acumen Fund, investing in business serving the urban poor. Nick is a Draper Richards Kaplan Fellow, a Rainer Arnolds Fellow, and an Ashoka Young Champion of Maternal Health. He has built partnerships with academics at Harvard, UCSF, Duke, and University of Nairobi to develop Jacaranda’s implementation science capacity, and served as a PI on grants from Saving Lives at Birth, Gates Grand Challenges, and Grand Challenges Canada. Nick is board chair of Jacaranda Maternity, Jacaranda Health’s sister social enterprise, and has been a speaker on maternal health innovation at conferences such as Women Deliver and the Global Maternal Health Conference. Nick is married to an obstetrician and global health researcher and spent most of his childhood outside of the US.
